CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-95-10
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
APPLY TO THE FLORIDA GOVERNMENT
FINANCE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION, INC.
FOR A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,000
(WITH A CITY MATCH OF $20,000) TO FUND
ONE-HALF OF AN INTERN PROGRAM, AS
PART OF THE FLORIDA GOVERNMENT
FINANCE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION'S
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac desires to participate in
the Florida Government Finance Officers Association Internship Program; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac desires to provide an
advanced undergraduate or graduate student the opportunity to gain supervised, practical
experience in governmental finance; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac is willing to contribute
funds in the amount of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000) as a match for this program;
and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance recommends approval of this request; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to participate in the
FGFOA Internship Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
,SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and

confirmed as being true and correct and is hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
aECTION 2: The City Manager is authorized to apply for grant funds in the
amount of $20,000 the Florida Government Finance Officers Association, Inc.
SECTION 3: Upon approval of the grant from the Florida Government
Finance Officers Association, Inc a resolution accepting this grant will be proposed at that
time.
SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5, If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution
is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
