CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R 95- 177
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE
OF ONE 3/4 TON TRUCK, A CHEVROLET C2500, FROM
MAROONE CHEVROLET UTILIZING STATE OF FLORIDA
CONTRACT NUMBER 070-500-420 AT A COST OF $14,113
BUDGETED UNDER FLEET SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Truck #250, a vehicle used by the grass crew was scheduled to be
replaced with a Bi-Fuel Vehicle purchased with Grants funds provided by the State of
Florida; and
WHEREAS, the Bi-Fuel vehicle is not suitable for this purpose due to the limited
mileage per fill -up, the requirement of the grant that the vehicle be refueled at a natural
gas station located in the City of Sunrise and because of the extensive record keeping
requirements demanded by the terms of the Grant; and
WHEREAS, Maroone Chevrolet has offered to sell the City one 3/4 ton Chevrolet
C2500 under the terms and conditions stated in State of Florida Contract Number 070-
500-420; and
WHEREAS, City Code §6-155 allows the waiver of formal contract procedures for
all supplies, materials and equipment, which are the subject of contracts with the State;
and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor and the
Purchasing Officer that the City purchase the 3/4 ton truck from Maroone Chevrolet; and
WHEREAS, the Bi-Fuel vehicle will be assigned to the garage to be used as an
emergency replacement vehicle and for temporary assignments; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to approve the
purchase of one 3/4 ton truck from Maroone Chevrolet,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
Section 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this resolution.

Section 2: The purchase of one 3/4 ton truck, a Cheroley C2500, at a cost of
$14,113 IS HEREBY APPROVED to be purchased from Maroone Cherolet utilizing State
of Florida Contract Number 070-500-420.
Section 3: Funding for this purchase is available under the Fleet Services Capital
Outlay Accounts, however, for correct accounting purposes a transfer of $7,241 from
account 503-703-591-647 entitled "Special Equipment" to account 503-703-591-640
entitled "Vehicles" is hereby approved.
Section 4: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held
by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application,
it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
Section 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption.
