A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIAL TO RENEW FLOOD INSURANCE POLICIES FOR THE CITY OF TAMARAC FOR THE PERIOD NOVEMBER 2, 1995 THROUGH NOVEMBER 2, 1998; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. 1 WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac recognizing the city is located in an A2 flood zone desires to purchase flood insurance protection; and WHEREAS, the flood insurance policies listed on Exhibit A have an anniversary date of November 2, 1995; and WHEREAS, the flood insurance property and content values were increased to the appropriate coverage limits available under the National Flood Insurance Program; and WHEREAS, American Bankers Insurance Group will renew the City's flood policies effective November 2, 1995 at current rates with an increase in premium due to increased coverage limits; and WHEREAS, American Bankers Insurance Group will provide a three year prepaid renewal option due to the expected increase in rates, thereby guaranteeing the same rate 2 Temp. Reso. 7230 Revised 10/06/95 Revised 10/16/95 for three years and eliminating service fees for two years; and WHEREAS, the Risk Manager recommends approval of this renewal; and WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to maintain flood insurance protection for the risk of property loss. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SEQIIQN 2: That the appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to renew the City's flood insurance policies listed on Exhibit A for the period November 2, 1995 through November 2, 1998 for a total premium of $32,301. $ CT�ION 3_: That all appropriate budget allocations required to fund the provisions of this resolution are hereby approved. SECTION 4: That all resolutions or parts in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 5: If any clause, section, or other part of application of this Resolution is held by an order of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part 1 1 1 3 Temp. Reso. 7230 Revised 10/06/95 Revised 10/16/95 or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or application of this Resolution.
