CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-95-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF $113,400
FROM THE PARKS AND RECREATION IMPACT FEE ACCOUNT
NUMBER 142-888-572-99C TO ACCOUNT NUMBER 142-888-572-
63F ENTITLED "PLAYGROUND FLOORING" FOR THE PURCHASE
AND INSTALLATION OF AN AMERICAN DISABILITIES ACT (ADA)
APPROVED RECYCLED WASTE TIRE SURFACE FROM
CONTRACT CONNECTION. THE PURCHASE WILL BE MADE
UNDER THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF BID SC-0862-94
ISSUED BY THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA. THE
SURFACE IS TO BE INSTALLED IN PLAY AREAS AT TAMARAC
PARK AND TAMARAC SPORTS COMPLEX. TOTAL COST OF THE
PROJECT IS $113,400 AND WILL BE FUNDED UNDER ACCOUNT
NUMBER 142-888-572-63F ENTITLED "PLAYGROUND
FLOORING", GRANT FUNDING FROM THE WASTE TIRE GRANT
AND BROWARD COUNTY WILL REIMBURSE TAMARAC 100% OF
THE COST UPON PROJECT COMPLETION; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on February 8, 1995, the City Commission adopted Resolution #95- 22
which approved the agreement between the City of Tamarac and Broward County for grant
funding in the amount of $113,400; and
WHEREAS, the grant funding provides for the installation of ADA approved play
surface areas at the Tamarac Sports Complex (9901 N.W. 77th Street) and Tamarac Park
(7501 N. University Drive); and
WHEREAS, the approved playground surface will be manufactured from recycled
tires; and
WHEREAS, this project would provide a safe play area and promote the use of
recycled tire products; and
WHEREAS, The City has been awarded grant funding for this project from the
Waste Tire Grant and Broward County will reimburse Tamarac 100% of the cost upon
project completion; and

WHEREAS, Contract Connection has offered to extend the terms and conditions of
the City of Jacksonville, Florida Bid SC-0862-94; and
WHEREAS, City Code §6-154 allows the Purchasing Officer the authority to join
with other units of government in cooperative purchasing when the best interest of the City
will be served; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Parks and Recreation Operations
Manager that this purchase be awarded to Contract Connection; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to approve a budget
transfer of $113,400 from Parks and Recreation Impact Fees Account Number 142-888-
572-99C to Parks and Recreation Capital Improvements Program Account Number 142-
888-572-63F, entitled 'Playground Flooring", and to approve the purchase and installation
of ADA approved recycled waste tire surface from Contract Connection.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
Section 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this resolution.
Section 2: That the appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to approve a
budget transfer of $113,400 from Parks and Recreation Impact Fee Account Number 142-
888-572-99C to Playground Flooring Account Number 142-888-572-63A and award the
purchase of recycled waste tire surface to Contract Connection.
action 3- All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held
by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application,
it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
Section 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption.
