RESOLUTION NO. R-95--!fL
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA;
GRANTING APPROVAL FOR A SPECIAL
EXTENDED HOURS PERMIT TO EXTEND THE
HOURS OF ON -PREMISE CONSUMPTION OF
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES PURSUANT TO
ORDINANCE 85-38 IN A COCKTAIL LOUNGE
IN A PORTION OF BAY 37 AND ALL OF BAY
38 OF 3 LAKES PLAZA AT 3224 W.
COMMERCIAL BOULEVARD AS REQUESTED
BY RICHARD GONZALES, OWNER OF OASIS
PACKAGE & LOUNGE; PROVIDING THAT
SUCH APPROVAL IS CONTINGENT UPON
OBTAINING ALL REQUIRED STATE
LICENSES AND A CERTIFICATE OF
INSURANCE; PROVIDING THAT ALL FEES
FOR THE EXTENDED HOURS PERMIT ARE
PAID; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida has found that
neighboring cities have legislated extended hours for the on -premises consumption of
alcoholic beverages; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac Code of Ordinance 85-38 provides for the granting
of an extended hours permit for on -premises consumption of alcoholic beverages and
establishes a special extended hour permit fee and all conditions for City Commission
approval; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Community Development recommends approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to approve a request
from the Oasis Package and Lounge to extend the hours of on -premises consumption of
alcoholic beverages pursuant to Ordinance 85-38;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
TION : The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That granting approval for the Oasis Package and Lounge,
located in a portion of Bay 37 and all of Bay 38 of 3 Lakes Plaza at 3224 W. Commercial
Boulevard, to extend the hours of on -premises consumption of alcoholic beverages is
contingent upon the City receiving a current State of Florida Department of Business
Regulation Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco License.
SECTION 3: That proper insurance coverage be provided to the City in
connection with extended hours permit for on -premises consumption of alcoholic
beverages.

SECTION 4: That pursuant to Ordinance 85-38, approval for a special permit
for extended hours for on -premises consumption of alcoholic beverages is approved for
the following extended hours and conditions:
1. Everyday, including Sunday, the hours of sale may be extended to 7:00 a.m.
(i.e., one hour earlier that than the standard 8:00 a.m. opening).
2. For New Year's Eve (December 31), the hours of sale may be extended to
4:00 a.m. on New Year's Day (January 1).
3. For St. Patrick's Day (March 17), the hours of sale may be extended to 4:00

4. The special permit is for a three (3) year period only and must be renewed
every three (3) years by City Commission approval.
5. The extended hours permit is not transferable to any other party without
approval of the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida.
SECTION 5: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 6: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution
is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or

application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
SECTION is
