CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-95-17
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA; APPROVING A WAIVER
TO THE SIGN CODE ORDINANCE REQUESTED BY
FERRIN SIGNS INC. OF FLORIDA FOR A DIRECTORY
SIGN LOCATED AT N.W. 31 AVENUE, THREE LAKES
PLAZA NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF COMMERCIAL
BOULEVARD PROVIDING FOR CONDITIONS OF
APPROVAL; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE:
WHEREAS, Ferrin Signs Inc. has requested a waiver from Code Chapter 18-65 (6)
governing signs; and
WHEREAS, The initial request for a sign waiver was tabled at the City Commission
meeting December 14, 1994 with the recommendation for a Commission Workshop which was
held January 28, 1995. As a result of this meeting this request now reflects a considerable
reduction in area, height and allocation of tenant name space; and
WHEREAS, the Building Official, reviewed said waiver and recommends approval;
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida has the authority
pursuant to the Code Section 18-65 (6) to grant waivers; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the
best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to grant this waiver.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing WHEREAS clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of the Resolution.
SECTION 2: That the waiver to the Sign Code Chapter 18 requested by Ferrin Signs
Inc. to allow a directory sign at Three Lakes Plaza at N.W. 31 Avenue near the intersection of
Commercial Boulevard to be 105 sq. ft., with tenant name letters 6-inches and 12-inches high,
with tenant name space 3.35 sq. ft. and 14.14 sq. ft. per tenant space, and said directory sign
to be 12 ft. in height and 13 ft. from the right of way is HEREBY APPROVED.

SECTION I Conditions of approval:

SECTI N 4: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held
by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it
shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
