RESOLUTION NO. R-95- 5�0
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF
THE MARCH 14, 1995, GENERAL ELECTION FOR
CHARTER BOARD AT -LARGE MEMBER ELECTING IRWIN
MARKOWITZ FOR A TWO-YEAR TERM; DECLARING A
VACANCY FOR CHARTER BOARD DISTRICT 1 TO BE
FILLED BY THE CHARTER BOARD; DECLARING
MICHAEL DEITSCH THE UNOPPOSED CANDIDATE FOR
DISTRICT 3 AS THE REPRESENTATIVE FOR CHARTER
BOARD DISTRICT 3; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DAT__E._ _
WHEREAS,
there were no
candidates for
the
position of Charter
Board
representative for
District 1 and
this member
shall
be appointed by
the

Charter Board to serve for the remainder of the expiring term or until the
next general election, whichever comes first; and
WHEREAS, Michael Deitsch was an unopposed candidate for the
Charter Board representative for District 3; and
WHEREAS, a General Election was held on March 14, 1995, wherein
the Charter Board At -Large position was to be filled for a two-year term;
and
WHEREAS, the Broward County Canvassing Board has canvassed the
results of the machine voting and absentee ballots and has certified such
results to the City Clerk of the City of Tamarac; and

WHEREAS, the City Clerk has reviewed the certification from the
Broward County Canvassing Board and has presented their findings to the
City Commission for a formal Certification and Declaration of the results.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION -_: That the foregoing clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of
this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That since there were no candidates for the position of
Charter Board representative for District 1, this member shall be
appointed by the Charter Board to serve for the remainder of the expiring
term or until the next general election, whichever comes first.
SECTION _3: That Michael Deitsch. having run unopposed for the
position of Charter Board representative for District 3, has been duly
elected to that position for a term of two years.
SECTION 4: The following are the certified results of the votes
received by candidates seeking the office of Charter Board At -Large at the
General Election held March 14, 1995:
Isaac "Zeke" Feldman 718
Irwin Markowitz 1.156
Irwin Markowitz having received the highest number of votes cast for the
At -Large seat, is, therefore, declared to have been elected to that seat for
a term of two years.

SECTION-L. That Michael Deitsch and Irwin Markowitz shall take
office in accordance with the provisions of Section 2-27 of the Tamarac
lam
SECTION 6: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
E TI N 7: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be
unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 8T This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
