CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-94- / 94/
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA APPROVING THE RENEWAL OF
A ONE-YEAR CONTRACT WITH ALPHA TEMPORARY
SERVICES, TO PROVIDE SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD
SERVICES WITHIN THE CITY OF TAMARAC;
AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIAL TO
EXECUTE ADDENDUM TO OCTOBER 1, 1993
INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE CITY OF TAMARAC AND ALPHA TEMPORARY
SERVICES, INC. FOR SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD
SERVICES; APPROVING FUNDING FROM ACCOUNT
#001-220-521-340 ENTITLED, POLICE SERVICES, OTHER
CONTRACTUAL SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be
in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to renew, for a
period of one-year, a contract with Alpha Temporary Services, Inc. for School Crossing
Guards; and
WHEREAS, Alpha Temporary Service, Inc. in accordance with the original contract,
has agreed to an extension of all terms of the School Crossing Guard Service contract
for a period of one year.
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Manager and the Purchasing
Officer that the Contract with Alpha Temporaries be renewed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
Section 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this resolution.
Section 2: That the renewal of a one-year contract with Alpha Temporary
Services, Inc. for School Crossing Guard Services, is HEREBY APPROVED and that all
appropriate officials are authorized to execute the Addendum to October 1, 1993
Agreement between the City of Tamarac and Alpha Temporary Services, Inc. for School
Crossing Guard Services attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A.

Section 3: That the funds are to come from Account Number #001-220-521-340
entitled, Police Services, Other Contractual Services at a cost of $50,000; and
Section 4: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held
by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
Section 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption. 01

ADDENDUM TO OCTOBER 1, 1993
INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF TAMARAC AND
ALPHA TEMPORARY SERVICES FOR
SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD SERVICES.
This Addendum to the Independent Contractor Agreement between the City of
Tamarac (hereinafter "CITY") and Alpha Temporary Services, Inc. as an independent
contractor (hereinafter "CONTRACTOR"), is made and entered into this 5 day of

WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the CITY and CONTRACTOR entered into an Agreement dated
. October 1, 1993.
WHEREAS, CONTRACTOR agreed to provide school crossing guard services for
the CITY.
NOW, THEREFORE, in addition to the obligations set forth in the Agreement of
October 1, 1993, between the CITY and CONTRACTOR, the parties agree as follows:
1. Option to renew as stated in Paragraph 2 of the Agreement, signed by City of
Tamarac on August 26, 1993, is hereby exercised for a period of one (1) year to
commence on October 1, 1994 through October 1, 1995.

2. The October 1, 1993 Agreement between CITY and CONTRACTOR and all

subsequent amendments and addendums thereto not subject to this or other duly
executed amendments and addendums remain in full force and effect. The failure to
specifically delineate any prior terms or conditions in this Addendum does not operate to
relieve CITY and CONTRACTOR of any obligations pursuant to the Agreement or waive
any rights contained therein.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have made and executed this
Addendum to Agreement on the respective dates under each signature. CITY OF
