This application is for the construction of an access road to the proposed site for ITW Mima. This corporation is planning to relocate their corporate headquarters from the City of Boca Raton to the City of Tamarac. This proposed road would provide access to the site which is located west of Nob Hill Road in the City of Tamarac. The company will create forty (40) full-time, permanent positions and will allocate One Million ($1,000,000.00) Dollars for capital investment. The transportation problem is a current lack of highway access to the site without which ITW Mima cannot relocate its facilities. The City does not currently have financing available to construct this needed facility. The City's application requests funding in the amount of Two Hundred Sixty -Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Thirty Seven ($269,937.00) Dollars. The transportation problem will be alleviated by the construction of the road. The City of Tamarac has provided an incentive package of One Hundred Fifty Thousand ($150,000.00) Dollars for this project, but without the construction of the access road, the relocation will not become a reality. The City Commission has authorized me to submit this grant application by Resolution No. 94-245, which I have attached. I am pleased to have the opportunity to submit this application to the Department of Commerce on behalf of the City of Tamarac.
