CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-94- ,7- 73
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA APPROVING THE RENEWAL, OF
BROWARD COUNTY CO-OP CONTRACT #D-04-92-17-19,
GASOLINE. THE FUEL WILL BE PURCHASED FROM
ACCOUNT NUMBER 503-703-591-301, ENTITLED
"GASOLINE AND DIESEL BUDGETED AT $75,000;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to purchase Gasoline
from BP Oil Company; and
WHEREAS, Broward County has renewed Co-op Bid #D-04-92-17-19 awarded to
BP Oil Company for a period of one year. Bid renewal is for the period February 1, 1995
to January 31, 1996; and
WHEREAS, City Code §6-154 allows the Purchasing Officer the authority to join
with other units of government in cooperative purchasing when the best interest of the City
would be served; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
Section 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this resolution.
Section 2: That the renewal of Broward County Co-op Contract #D-04-92-17-19 at
an estimated cost of $79,500 IS HEREBY approved.
Section 3: That the funds are to come from Account Number #503-703-591-301,
entitled "Gasoline and Diesel budgeted at $75,000.
Section 4: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.

Section 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held
by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application,
it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
Section 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption.

FROM: PURCHASING OFFICER RE: PURCHASE OF GASOLINE
Recommendation:
Purchase gasoline from BP Oil Company utilizing Broward County Co -Op Bid #D-04-92-17-19.
Issue:
The Purchase of Gasoline for fuel tanks located at Public Works. These tanks are used to supply
Gasoline for all City vehicles.
Background:
The City of Tamarac participates in the Broward County Co -Op bid for Gasoline. This bid was
awarded based on a set base price with an allowance based on market conditions. By participating
in this Co -Op Bid, Tamarac receives an excellent price with a minimum amount of effort. Broward
County tracks market conditions and notifies all Co -Op members accordingly.
