CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-94-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA URGING SUPPORT OF
THE BROWARD COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS AND THE BROWARD COUNTY
LIBRARIES DIVISION PLAN TO INCLUDE AND FUND
THE FOLLOWING LIBRARY PROJECTS IN THE
BROWARD COUNTY CAPITAL PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR
1995: INSTALLATION OF A NEW 20,000 SQUARE
FOOT LIBRARY NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF MCNAB
ROAD AND ROCK ISLAND ROAD; AND THE
REPLACEMENT OF THE EXISTING 10,000 SQUARE
FOOT TAMARAC BRANCH LIBRARY WITH A NEW
20,000 SQUARE FOOT FACILITY; PROVIDING FOR
COPY DISTRIBUTION TO BROWARD COUNTY BOARD
OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, BROWARD COUNTY
ADMINISTRATOR; AND BROWARD COUNTY LIBRARIES
DIVISION DIRECTOR; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE,
WHEREAS, more families are moving into the City of Tamara
and are in need of larger library facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Broward County Tamarac Library has identifie
over 175 persons utilizing the Tamarac Branch library on a dail
basis; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Flori
deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens
residents of the City of Tamarac to replace the existing 10,00
square foot Tamarac branch facility with a new 20,000 squar
foot library and to construct a new library near eastern Tamara
(McNab Road at Rock Island Road).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF T
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses ar
hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and ar
hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
=ION„2: That the City of Tamarac requests that th
Broward County Board of County Commissioners and the Browar
County Libraries Division include and fund the following librar
projects in the Broward County Capital Plan for Fiscal Yea

projects in the Broward County Capital Plan for Fiscal Yea
1995: installation of a new 20,000 square foot library near th
intersection of McNab Road and Rock Island Road; and th
replacement of the existing 10,000 square foot Tamarac Branc
Library with a new 20,000 square foot facility.
SECTIQN 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions i
conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of suc.
conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part o
application of this Resolution is held by any court of competen
jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part o.
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remainin
portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effectiv
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
