CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-94- �'l
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, PROVIDING
FOR THE DESIGNATION OF AN ACTING CITY
MANAGER IF THE CITY MANAGER OR ASSIST-
ANT CITY MANAGER IS ABSENT OR DISABLED
PURSUANT TO SECTION 5.03 OF THE CITY
CHARTER; PROVIDING FOR A 30 DAY PERIOD
DURING WHICH THIS PROCEDURE SHALL BE
FOLLOWED; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PRO-
VIDING FOR SEVERABILTTY; AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 5.03 of the City Charter requires the City Manager to
appoint an Acting City Manager to serve in his absence
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Manager, at his discretion, may designate either the
Personnel Director, the Fire Chief or the Finance Director as Acting City Manager if the City
Manager and Assistant City Manager are absent or disabled. The Council hereby approves such
designation which must be in written form and submitted by the City Manager at least 48 hours
prior to the anticipated absence of the City Manager.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall be effective for 30 days from March 23, 1994.
SECTION 3: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTIQ?N 4: If any clause, section or other part of this Resolution is held by any
court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid in part or application, it shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.

RESOLUTION NO. R-94-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA APPROVING THE CITY
MANAGER'S APPOINTMENT OF STANLEY D. HAWTHORNE
AS FINANCE DIRECTOR, EFFECTIVE MARCH 24, 1994;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
WHEREAS, the City Charter, Section 5.04(a) provides that th(
City Manager "shall appoint and supervise the heads of al.
departments... subject to the approval of the majority of the
Council..."; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Manager that
Stanley D. Hawthorne be appointed Finance Director, effectiv(
March 24, 1994.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florid
deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens and residentE
of the City of Tamarac to approve the City Manager's appointment
of Stanley D. Hawthorne as Finance Director, effective March 24,
1994.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
�fiECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are
hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are
hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION : That on recommendation of the City Manager
that Stanley D. Hawthorne be appointed Finance Director, effective
March 24, 1994.
SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
