CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-94- 70
A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE DESIGNATION OF
AN ACTING CITY MANAGER IN THE ABSENCE OF THE
CITY MANAGER PURSUANT TO SECTION 5.03 OF THE
CITY CHARTER; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Section 5.03 of the City Charter requires the
City Manager to appoint an Acting City Manager to serve in his
absence.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Manager designates Assistant
City Manager Dina McDermott as Acting City Manager in the absence
of the City Manager. The Council hereby approves such designation
which must be in written form and submitted at least 48 hours
prior to the anticipated absence of the City Manager.
SECTION 2: In the event that the City Manager and
Assistant City Manager are simultaneously unavailable, that the
City Manager may select from among the Personnel Director, Finance
Director, Fire Chief, and Director of Public Services to serve as
Acting City Manager. The Council hereby approves such designation
which must be in written form and submitted at least 48 hours
prior to the anticipated absence of the City Manager and Assistant
City Manager.
SECTION 3: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or
application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent
jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions or applications of this Resolution.

SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon adoption.
