R- 9 3 - A RESOLUTION PURSUANT TO FLORIDA STATUTE SECTION 205.0535, ESTABLISHING AN EQUITY STUDY COMMITTEE TO MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS TO AMEND THE OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE CLASS- IFICATIONS AND RATE STRUCTURES; PROVID- ING DIRECTION TO THE EQUITY STUDY COM- MITTEE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICT; PROVID- ING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Section 205.0535, Subsection (2) of the Florida Statutes, requires establishing an "Equity Study Committee, before adopting a reclassification and revised Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the City Council pursuant to Section 205.0535, Subsection (2) of the Florida Statutes, has timely determined to appoint seven (7) members to the Equity Study Committee to take place in 1993; and WHEREAS, the City Council will consider recommendations by the Equity Study Committee to amend occupational license classifications and rate structures. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the City Council establishes a Equity Study Committee. SECTION 2: That the City Council is authorized to appoint by Resolution seven (7) members to the Equity Study Committee for terms to expire on March 1, 1994, under such terms as the City Council establishes by Resolution. SECTION 3: That the Equity Study Committee is directed pursuant to Section 205.0535, Subsection (2) of the Florida Statutes to develop occupational license classifications and rate code structures based on the current codes, and to meet with the City Council and City staff to review their recom- mendations on or before February 1, 1994. -1- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 Temp. Reso. 6595 Revised 11/17/93 Revised 12/08/93 SECTION 4: That the completed Equity Study Report, pursuant to Florida Statute Section 205.0535, Subsection (2), shall be submitted to the City Council on or before March 1, 1994. SECTION 5: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 6: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
