RESOLUTION NO. R-93- J�
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO APPLY TO THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL
SERVICES COMMITTEE AND THE BROWARD COUNTY
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, FOR AN ADVANCED
LIFE SUPPORT (ALS) LICENSE; ENDORSING AND
SUPPORTING'THE APPLICATION AND URGING BROWARD
COUNTY COMMISSION TO APPROVE IT; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE —DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac, Florida is preparing an
application to obtain an Advanced Life Support System License from
Broward County; -and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac is committed
to providing the best quality Advanced Life Support System (ALS)
and patient care and transportation; and
'WHEREAS,"the City Council of the City of Tamarac is committed
to decreasing the response time of Advanced Life Support System
(ALS) to our residents; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac is committed
to expanding and enhancing emergency medical services to our
residents. through the enhancement and expansion of our rescue
services and desires to improve pre -hospital services and care to
our residents; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac deems
this in the best interests of our residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTIQN,?, That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are
hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are
hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.

That the City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to apply to the Broward County Emergency Medical Services
Committee for an Advanced Life Support License.
SECTION 3: That the City Council of the City of Tamarac
strongly endorses and supports this application and urges the
Broward County Commission to approve it.
SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or
application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent
jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
