CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-92-j(ol_
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE PAPERWORK AND DOCUMENTATION
NECESSARY TO SECURE FEDERAL EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA) REIMBURSEMENT FOR
COSTS INCURRED BY THE CITY OF TAMARAC AS A
RESULT OF HURRICANE ANDREW; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida
deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens and residents
of the City of Tamarac to secure reimbursement from FEMA for costs
incurred by the City of Tamarac as a result of Hurricane Andrew;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac incurred considerable costs
-� related to the preparation and clean-up of Hurricane Andrew; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac has been determined to be
D eligible for certain reimbursement costs from FEMA; and
WHEREAS, in order to provide that reimbursement FEMA requires
2 that a representative from the City of Tamarac be authorized to
3 execute the necessary paperwork and documentation; and
4 WHEREAS, Section 5.04(e) of the Tamarac City Charter provides
5 that the City Manager shall execute bonds, contracts, and issue
6 checks on behalf of the Cityof
Tamarac pursuant to appropriate
ordinances, resolutions and directions of the City Council.
B NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
9 CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby

ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby
made a specific part of this resolution.
SECTION 2: The City Manager is authorized to execute any
and all paperwork and documentation necessary to secure FEMA
reimbursement for costs incurred by the City of Tamarac as a

result of Hurricane Andrew.
SECTI,Q,N,3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other' part or
application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent
jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
