A RESOLUTION GRANTING A SPECIAL USE
EXCEPTION TO PERMIT THE OPERATION OF A DRY
CLEANING ESTABLISHMENT IN BAY 2 OF WOODMONT
COMMONS, 8081 W. MCNAB ROAD, TAMARAC,
REQUESTED BY BARRY S. EDEN, TRUSTEE;
PETITION #6-Z-92; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Code of the City of Tamarac provides for
the granting of special exceptionto permit the operation of
a dry cleaning establishment in Bay 2 of Woodmont Commons,
8081 W. McNab Road, Tamarac, which is zoned B-1
(neighborhood business), as requested by Barry S. Eden,
Trustee; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has held a public
meeting thereon and has recommended approval of this
application; and
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing has been held and the public
been given an opportunity to express their views concerning
the application for special exception; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Tamarac finds that
the petition for special exception would be in keeping with
the public health, safety and general welfare of the City of
Tamarac.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the petition for special exception to
permit the operation of a dry cleaning establishment
requested by Barry S. Eden, Trustee, in Bay 2 of Woodmont
Commons, 8081 W. McNab Road, Tamarac, which is zoned B-1
(neighborhood business) is HEREBY' APPROVED.

SECTION 2: Conditions of approval:
a. No vehicular pickup or delivery services.
b. Customers must bring in and pick up and no
wholesale work.
c. No more than one 40 lbs. cleaning unit permitted
d. Entire process shall use enclosed solvents,
reclaiming units, with a carbon vapor absorber
for vent odor.
e. Venting of the boiler must be extended to
prevent offensive discharge to the surrounding
neighbourhood.
f. All solvents used must be nonflammable.
g. The dry-cleaner shall be at least 100 hundred
feet from the nearest residence door to door in
a straight line.
h. All high-pressured boilers operating over 15
pounds per square inch, rated at more than 3
boiler horsepower shall be enclosed in
noncombustible boiler room or enclosure as
specified in the South Florida Building Code.
i. Venting of boilers as specified in paragraph (h)
shall not be permitted unless the stack or vent
is more than 100 feet from the nearest residence
or is separated by a road between the vent and
the nearest residence.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon adoption.
