CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-92- OP -
A RESOLUTION GRANTING A SPECIAL USE EXCEPTION
TO PERMIT THE OPERATION OF A DRY CLEANING
ESTABLISHMENT IN BAY 6, MARKETPLACE OF
TAMARAC, 6947 WEST COMMERCIAL BOULEVARD,
TAMARAC, REQUESTED BY ANTONIETTA HARRINGTON
D/B/A THE DRY CLEANER, PETITION NO. 17-Z-92;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Code of the City of Tamarac prpvides for
the granting of special exception to permit the operation of
a dry cleaning establishment in Bay 6, Marketplace of
Tamarac, 6947 West Commercial F'',oulevard, as requested by
Antonietta Harrington d/b/a The Dry Cleaner; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has held a public
hearing thereon and has recommended approval of this
application; and
WHEREAS, the public have been given an opportunity to
express their views concerning the application for special
exception; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Tamarac finds that
the petition for special exception would be in keeping with
the public health, safety and general welfare of the City of
Tamarac.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the petition for special exception to
permit the operation of a dry cleaning establishment
requested by Antonietta Harrington d/b/a The Dry Cleaner in
Bay 6, Marketplace at Tamarac, 6947 West Commercial
Boulevard, is HEREBY APPROVED.

SECTION 2:. Condition of approval.:
a. No vehicular pickup or- delivery services.
b. Customers must bring in and pick up and no
wholesale work.
C. No more than one 40 pound cleaning unit permitted.
d. Entire process shall use enclosed solvents,
reclaiming units, with a carbon vapor absorber for
vent odor.
e. Venting of the boiler must be extended to prevent
offensive discharge! to the surrounding
neighborhood.
f. All solvents used must, be nonflammable.
g. The dry-cleaner shall k.,e al least one hundred (100)
feet from the nearest residence door to door in a
straight line.
h. All high-pressured boilers operating over 15 pounds
per square inch, rated. at more than three boiler
horsepower shall be enclosed in noncombustible
boiler room or enclosure as specified in the south
Florida Building Code.
i. Venting of boilers as specified in paragraph (h)
shall not be permitted. unless the stack or vent is
more than one hundred. (100) feet from the nearest
residence or is separated by a road between the
vent and the nearest residence.

SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon adoption.
