CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R--90- j::
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA,
URGING RESTAURANT OPERATORS IN THE CITY TO
SERVE DRINKING WATER ONLY UPON REQUEST OF
THEIR CUSTOMERS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, South Florida is experiencing a water shortage
due to record low levels of rainfall; and
WHEREAS, the South Florida Water Management District has
imposed water use restrictions on Broward County consumers;
and
WHEREAS, water is frequently not consumed by restaurant
patron which is a waste of the drinking water as well as the
dishwashing water used to clean the glasses;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That while water restrictions are in effect,
the restaurant operators in the City of Tamarac are urged to
serve drinking water only upon request of their customers, in
an attempt to conserve water during this drought period.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
