CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R--90- /*0
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A RATE
INCREASE FOR GROUP LIFE AND
ACCIDENTAL DEATH AND DISMEMBERMENT
INSURANCE TO NORTH AMERICAN LIFE
ASSURANCE COMPANY; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council approved Resolution R--90-12,
which awarded Baal #89-47 to North American Life Assurance Company
in January, 1990; and
WHEREAS, the City has been notified by North American
Life Assurance Company that a rate increase is necessary due to a
higher average age of employee, a lower group volume and an
unfavorable claims experience.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City of Tamarac hereby authorizes a
rate increase as follows:
Life Insurance:
from $.31 per $1,000.00
to $.39 per $1,000.00
Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance:
from $.05 per $1,000.00
to $.06 per $1,000.00
SECTION 2: That said rates and insurance shall
be in
full force and effect May 1, 1990.
SECTION 3: That the Finance Director
is hereby
authorized to make the appropriate budget transfers
in order to
fund this increase in insurance rates.
SECTION 4: That any and all Resolutions
in conflict
herewith are repealed.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become
effective
immediately upon adoption. 4k
