CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-90-j Z-Z
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY
OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT #1 TO THE
AGREEMENT BETWEEN BROWARD COUNTY AND THE
NORTHWEST BROWARD CITIES (COCONUT CREEK,
LAUDERHILL, MARGATE, NORTH LAUDERDALE AND
TAMARAC) FOR SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDING IN THE
AMOUNT OF $20,806.53 FOR THE FIRST YEAR
RECYCLING GRANT PROGRAM: AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on November 23, 1989 the City Council approved
Resolution R--89-294 authorizing the appropriate officials to
execute an agreement between the northwest cities group and
Broward County for the First Year Recycling Grant Program.
WHEREAS, the northwest cities group received $177,685.00
in the First Year Recycling Grant Program.
WHEREAS, the northwest cities group was found eligible
to receive additional recycling funds in the amount of
$20,806.53 for expenditures made for recycling activities
during the period of October 1, 1988 through March 3, 1990.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the appropriate City of Tamarac
officials are hereby authorized' to execute Amendment #1 to
the Agreement between Broward County and the northwest
Broward cities (Coconut Creek, Lauderhill, Margate, North
Lauderdale and Tamarac) for supplemental funding in the
amount df $20,806.53 for the First Year Recycling Grant
Program.

SECTION 2 : This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon adoption.

WHEREAS, CITY and COUNTY previously agreed to a maximum
amount payable by COUNTY to CITY under a First Year kecycling
Grant Program Agreement; and
WHEREAS, COUNTY has additional grant funds that were nor,
expended by other cities participating in the recycling grant
program; and
WHEREAS, CITY has expended its own funds in excess of the
maximum amount payable by COUNTY to CITY; and
WHEREAS, the additional amounts expended by CITY may qualify
for reimbursement under the terms and conditions in the First
Year Recycling Grant Program Agreement; and
WHEREAS, CITY and COUNTY desire to increase the maximum
amount payable by COUNTY to CITY to further accomplish the goals
of the recycling grant program;
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the foregoing premises
and mutual terms and conditions herein, CITY and COUNTY hereby
agree as follows:
This Is the First Amendment to that certain Agreement
approved by the Broward County board of County Commissioners on
August 30, 1999 between: HROWARU CUUN"(Y, a pollticat supdivision
Of the States of Florida, its: successor and assigns, hereinaTter
referred to as COUNTY, through Its Hoard of County Commissioners,

Article 3.2 is hereby amended as follows:
3.2 The maximum amount payable by COUNTY to Cl1V under tnis
agreement shall be 8 1. Q .
All payments by COUNTY to CITY under this Agreement shall be
contingent upon the COUNTY receiving grant funds provided Tor in
the Grant Agreement.
Except as modified, the Agreement between the parties remains in
full force and effect.
