CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-90-.Z7:5
A RESOLUTION CONCERNING PROPOSED CAPITAL
EXPENDITURES AFFECTING ALL RESIDENTS OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC; PROPOSING THE INSTALLATION,
UPGRADING AND MODIFYING OF STREET LIGHTING AT
A COST NOT TO EXCEED $2,000,000; PROPOSING
THE CONSTRUCTION OF APPROXIMATELY 21 ADDI-
TIONAL MILES OF SIDEWALKS AND SIDEWALK
IMPROVEMENTS AT A COST NOT TO EXCEED
$1,250,000; PROVIDING THAT THE FUNDING OF
EACH PROJECT WILL BE FROM A SOURCE OR SOURCES
PROVIDING THE MOST ADVANTAGEOUS FINANCIAL
TERMS; PROVIDING FOR A REFERENDUM TO BE HELD
ON SEPTEMBER 4, 1990; PROVIDING THAT IF A
MAJORITY OF THE VOTERS APPROVE BOTH OR EITHER
OF THE PROPOSED EXPENDITURES THEN UPON
CERTIFICATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE ELECTION
RESULTS THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS SHALL
BE AUTHORIZED TO FUND THE PROJECTS UPON TERMS
MOST FAVORABLE TO THE CITY OF TAMARAC AND
MAKE THE EXPENDITURES OF THE APPROVED FUNDS
FOR THE APPROVED PROJECTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY OF INVALID PROVISIONS; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 7.13 of the City Charter requires
referendum approval by the voters for any appropriation of
City funds for capital expenditures in excess of two and one-
half percent (2.5%) of the current budget; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the
proposed capital projects and improvements are in the best
interest of the residents of the City of Tamarac,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The following proposed expenditures are to
be presented to the electorate of the City of Tamarac at the
September 4, 1990 election and if a majority of the voters
approve both or either of the proposed expenditures then upon
certification and acceptance of the election results the
appropriate city officials shall be authorized to fund the
projects upon terms most favorable to the City of Tamarac and
make the expenditures of the approved funds for the approved
projects:

PROPOSED CAPITAL EXPENDITURE #1
A capital expenditure is proposed for the
installation, upgrading and modification of street
lighting within the City of Tamarac. Funds for the
improvement would be borrowed from a source or sources
authorized by State Statute and the City Charter under
the most advantageous financial terms available. The
expenditure for this purpose shall not exceed
$2,000,000.

PROCEED WITH THIS CAPITAL PROJECT?

A capital expenditure is proposed for the con-
struction and improvement of sidewalks within the City
of Tamarac. Funds for the construction and improvements
would be borrowed from a source or sources authorized by
State Statute and the City Charter under the most advan-
tageous financial terms available. The expenditure for
this purpose shall not exceed $1,250,000.
ARE YOU IN FAVOR OF AUTHORIZING THE CITY COUNCIL TO
PROCEED WITH THIS CAPITAL PROJECT?
YES
NO
SECTION 2: Should any section or provision of this
resolution or any portion hereof or any paragraph, sentence
or word be declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to
be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of
the remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof other than
the part declared to be invalid.

SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption, and the appropriate City
officials are authorized to take whatever actions are
necessary to see that this matter is placed on the
September 4, 1990 ballot.

A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION
R-90-167 WHICH CREATED THE POSITION
OF OFFICE MANAGER TRAINEE WITHIN THE
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT; AND PROVID-
ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Resolution R-90-167 was approved by the City
Council on June 18, 1990; and
WHEREAS, there is an amendment necessary concerning the
Range and Salary of this position.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TAMARAC,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The City Council hereby approved the amend-
ment to the Range and Salary of this position from "Range 21, Step
A" to "Range 18, Step B/C".
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon adoption.
