RESOLUTION NO. R-85- IQ
A RESOLUTION GRANTING A SPECIAL USE EXCEPTION TO
PERMIT THE OPERATION OF A 180-UNIT NURSING HOME
(THE PROPOSED TAMARAC NURSING CENTER) REQUESTED
BY SIDNEY LEFCOURT AND W. JAMES OROVITZ, PETITION
#31-Z-84; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Code of the City of Tamarac provides for the

granting of special exception to permit the operation of a 180-unit
8
Nursing Home on the west side of NW 79 Avenue approximately 585---feet
9
north of NW 57 Street; and
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing has been held and the public has
10

been given an opportunity to express their views concerning the
application for special exception; and

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Tamarac finds that the
petition for special exception would be in keeping with the public
14
health, safety and general welfare of the City of Tamarac.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:

SECTION 1: That tie petition for special exception to
17
permit the operation of a 180-unit Nursing Home (the proposed

Tamarac Nursing Center), is HEREBY APPROVED.

SECTION 2: Conditions of approval:
20
1. Construction be in general conformance to the 12/28/84 drawing.

2. Developer to consult with Beautification Committee in an effort
22
to maintain rustic nature of the south and west canal banks.
23
3. Developer to investigate the possibility of extending five-foot
24
sidewalk on the west side of NW 79 Ave. to NW 57 St.
25
4. No windows permitted on the north side of second floor of build-
26
ing, except that skylights are permitted.

5. Additional 20 parking spaces to be paved and stripped in rear for
28
employees - increasing total parking to 95 spaces.

6. Dumpster to be located on the south side of the building.
7. Air conditioning compressor to be located on the south central
31
side of the building.

8. Regrade canal per City Code.
