RESOLUTION NO. R-85- /a-�-
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE
GENERAL ELECTION FOR CITY COUNCIL DISTRICTS
1 AND 3.
WHEREAS, the General Election was held on March 12, 1985,
wherein the Electorate of the City of Tamarac was to choose one(1)
candidate for the Office of Council Representative from District 1,
one(1) candidate for the Office of Council Representative from
District 3; and
WHEREAS, the County Canvassing Board has canvassed the
results of the machine voting and the absentee ballots, and has
certified such results to the City Clerk of the City of Tamarac;
and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has reviewed the certification from
the County Canvassing Board, and has presented her findings to the
City Council for a formal Certification and Declaration of the
Results.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The following are the Certified Results of the
votes received by candidates seeking the office of Council Represent
ative from District 1, at the General Election held March 12, 1985:
Allan C. Bernstein 3,082
Helen Massaro 5,023
and Helen Massaro having received the highest number of votes cast
is,therefore, declared to have been elected as Council Representativ
for District 1 of the City of Tamarac for a term of two years.
SECTION 3: The following are the Certified Results of the votes
received by candidates seeking the Office of Council Representative
from District 3, at the General Election held March 12, 1985:
Shirley Blumfield 2,453
Arthur Gottesman 5,559

and Arthur Gottesman having received the highest number of votes
cast is, therefore, declared to have been elected as Council Rep-
resentative from District 3, for a term of two years.
SECTION 4: That Helen Massaro and Arthur Gottesman shall take
office in accordance with the provisions of Section 2-4 of the Code
of Ordinances.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 19th day of March, 1985.
