3 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A PROCEDURE FOR
4 NOTIFICATION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF ANY
EXTRAORDINARY PAY INCREASES GRANTED CITY

WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to be informed of
7 extraordinary salary increases granted to City employees by
the City Manager;
8 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
9 THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
,a UC JQN 1: That the City Manager is hereby directed to
supply the following information in writing to the Mayor and
City Council members at least ten (10) working days prior to
granting any extraordinary pay increase to any city employee:
12 (a) The name of the employee,
13 (b) Position of the employee,
14 (c) present and proposed pay range and pay grade or
15 step level of the employee, and
16 (d) Basis for granting an extraordinary pay raise to
the employee.
17 S-EICT1QN-2.: For the purpose of this Resolution, "ex-
traordinary pay increase" shall be defined as any special
merit increase or reclassification of an individual job
19 classification where the same employee remains in the job
class before and after the reclassification. Not_ir�c1��5 in
,gyp extraordinary pay increases are:
31 (a) annual merit increases of one step,
22 (b) cost of living increases automatically given to all
employees in a classification as a result of a
Z3 labor contract or other council action, and
24 (c) promotions (to a vacant job classification with a
higher pay range).
25CT�1QN_3: This Resolution shall become effective
26 immediately upon its passsge.
