RESOLUTION NO. 85- / 80
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH
THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES
DIVISION OF COMMUNICATIONS FOR CONNECTION
TO THE SUNCOM TELEPHONE SYSTEM AND AUTHOR-
IZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO
EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City has demonstrated an interest in reducing
its operating costs wherever possible; and
WHEREAS, the Suncom Telephone System operated by the State is
a cost effective system in which the City has the opportunity to
participate; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to take advantage of the
reduced rates of the Suncom System by its participation:`
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC,
FLORIDA;
SECTION 1: That the appropriate City Officials are hereby
authorized to execute a Long Distance Communications Systems Agree-
ment with the State Department of General Services, Division of
Communications for connection by the City to this system.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its adoption.

STATE LONG DISTANCE
COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM AGREEMENT
This AGREEMENT is by and between CITY OF TAMARAC ,
hereinafter referred to as the MUNICIPALITY, and the State of
Florida Department of General Services, Division of
Communications, hereinafter referred to as the STATE, regarding
the MUNICIPALITY'S participation in the state long distance
communications system.
1. The STATE shall provide to the MUNICIPALITY access to
the present state long distance communications system, or any
future long distance system. All lines not restricted by the
MUNICIPALITY shall have access to the state long distance
communications system.
2. The MUNICIPALITY shall pay installation costs required
to provide access to the state long distance communications
system. The MUNICIPALITY shall also pay the installation costs
for any additional access facilities to the state communications
system.
3. The STATIS shall provide invoices for long distance
communications service. The amount of each invoice shall be the
MUNICIPALITY'S pro rata share of the system usage and shall cover
administrative costs as well as system utilization and shall be
consistent with the charges to participating state agencies.
The invoicing methods and policies that apply to state
agencies shall be applicable to the MUNICIPALITY. If an invoice
ib not paid by its due date the STATE may terminate service after
30 days written notice.
The MUNICIPALITY recognizes and agrees that invoicing
concepts and system configurations are subject to change from
time to time as a result of changes in applicable laws, rules,
traffic patterns, and other conditions.
4. The STATE, as well as the MUNICIPALITY, will be required
to provide a minimum of 30 days' written notice to the other
party prior to termination of service, except as provided in
Paragraph S hereof.
S. It is agreed that the obligations of each party
hereunder are subject to the laws of Florida and subject to funds
being lawfully available to fulfill such obligations. If at any
time funds are not available to either party for that purpose,

that party shall notify the other party immediately upon
receiving such information, and thereupon this agreement '
shall be terminated at the end of the period of time for
which such funds are available.
