CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-85 ��
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL IN SUPPORT
OF HANDS ACROSS BROWARD DAY ON OCTOBER 5,
1985 : AND PROVIDING _ULBEEF-CTIYZ-PAT �..__.-.
WHEREAS, HANDS ACROSS BROWARD is an attempt to set the
North American record for the longest human chain, twenty-
three (23) miles long, along the beach from Deerfield on the
North to Hallandale on the South; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of "Hands Across Broward is to
heighten awareness of the -United Way while promoting com-
munity spirit throughout South Florida to dramatically illus-
trate the strength of volunteerism; and
WHEREAS, in order for Hands Across Broward to- be a
success the support of every City in Broward County is
necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
5E.QTION_1 That the City of Tamarac hereby finds and
determines that it is to the benefit "of its residents that
the City of Tamarac endorse the Hands Across Broward Day on
October 5, 1985.
SECTIQU-2.: -That the City of Tamarac hereby strongly
encourages its citizens, -to join in participation in Hands
Across Broward Day in support of the United Way.
5=110 3j., This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon adoption.
