RESOLUTION NO. R-85-_,5�
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A SISTER CITY ACCORD
WITH KIRYAT TIVON, ISRAEL, AUTHORIZING ITS
EXECUTION, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida:
SECTION 1: That the Sister City accord with Kiryat Tivon, Israel
to encourage mutual exchanges of interests among the residents of the
two cities is hereby approved, attached as Exhibit A.
SECTION 2: That the appropriate City officials are hereby directec
to execute this document.
SECTION 3: That this Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its adoption.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 13 day of 1935.

SISTER CITY ACCORD
..
THIS ACCORD made and entered into by and between:
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, U.S.A., a Municipal
Corporation organized under the laws of Florida,
hereinafter referred to as "TAMARAC"
and
THE CITY OF KIRYAT TIVON, ISRAEL, hereinafter
referred to as "TIVON"
W I T N E S S E T H
WHEREAS, the concept of the Sister City, the pairing of
cities in different countries, is an important step in the
mutual understanding between peoples and nations; and
WHEREAS, the peoples of the United States and Israel,
and in particular the residents of Tamarac and Kiryat Tivon,
share a common culture and commitment to freedom and liberty;
WHEREAS, the Tamarac City Council approved this memoran-
dum at its meeting on February 13 , 1985; and
WHEREAS, the Tivon City Council approved this memorandum
at its meeting on , 1985;
NOW, THEREFORE, the elected representatives and the
residents of Tamarac and Kiryat Tivon agree as follows:
1. Tamarac and Kiryat Tivon hereby declare themselves
to be Sister Cities.
2. The Sister City relationship contemplates the
encouraging of mutual visitation by individuals,
and cultural, political, sport and youth groups,
and of pen -pal relationships between the residents
of each city.
3. For the purpose of maintaining a long term rela-
tionship between the two cities, a Sister City
Committee shall be formed by each city. The Com-
mittee shall keep the residents of its city aware
of all activities connected with the Sister City
program.
4. Communication between Tamarac and Tivon should be
directed to the following parties and private
correspondents communicating in furtherance of this

accord are urged to send copies of communications
