RESOLUTION NO. R-85-4/1 V
A RESOLUTION GRANTING A SPECIAL USE EXCEPTION
TO PERMIT THE OPERATION OF A 180-BED NURSING
HOME (THE PROPOSED TAMARAC NURSING CENTER)
REQUESTED BY SIDNEY LEFCOURT AND W. JAMES
OROVITZ, PETITION #31-Z-84; AMENDING RESOLU-
TION R-85-10; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
WHEREAS, the Code of the City of Tamarac provides for
the granting of special exception to permit the operation of
a 180-- Bed Nursing Home on the west side of N.W. 79 Avenue
approximately 585 feet north of N.W. 57 Street; and
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing has been held and the public
has been given an opportunity to express their views con-
cerning the application for special exception; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Tamarac finds that
the petition for special exception would be in keeping with
the public health, safety and general welfare of the City of
Tamarac.
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to add conditions to the
approval granted by Resolution R-85--10, with the concurrence
of the developer, Health Care and Retirement Corporation of
America.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
eSECTIO ?L1: That the petition for special exception to
permit the operation of a 180-Bed Nursing Home (the proposed
Tamarac Nursing Center) is HEREBY APPROVED,
S-ECTI-ON_2: Conditions of approval:
a) The maximum number of beds is 180; however, a
combination of assisted living and nursing care
beds may be used. No more than 79 of the beds may
be assisted living.
SECTION-3: This Resolution shall become effective upon
adoption.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this�day of
