CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, URGING THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION AND THE FLORIDA TURNPIKE
AUTHORITY TO CONSTRUCT AN INTERCHANGE AT THE
INTERSECTION OF THE TURNPIKE WITH SAMPLE ROAD
(STATE ROAD 812) AS -EXPEDITIOUSLY AS POSSIBLE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac believes that
the construction of an interchange at the intersection of Florida's
Turnpike and Sample Road would provide the rapidly expanding
population of the City of Tamarac and neighboring municipalities wit
more direct and expedient access to Florida's Turnpike; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac further believ
that the construction of such an interchange will greatly increase
the traffic on Florida's Turnpike; and
WHEREAS, reports by the Department of Transportation of the
State of Florida have clearly demonstrated that such an interchange
is economically feasible; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac believes
that the construction of such an interchange at the intersection of
Florida's Turnpike and Sample Road is in the best interest and
general welfare of the rapidly expanding population of the City of
Tamarac and the neighboring municipalities of northern Broward Coun
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the immediate construction of an interchange
at the intersection of Florida's Turnpike and Sample Road in
northern Broward County is hereby strongly endorsed by the City
Council of the City of Tamarac.
SECTION 2: It is further resolved that the Florida State
Turnpike Authority and the Florida Department of Transportation be
urged to begin construction of said interchange as expeditiously as
possible in order to benefit the citizens of northern Broward County.
SECTION 3: A copy of this resolution shall be sent to the
Florida State Turnpike Authority and to the Florida Department of
Transportation.
