R-80- 6 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE TENTATIVE PROPOSED MILLAGE RATE FOR THE CITY OF TAMARAC FOR FISCAL YEAR 1980-81 AT 6.88 PER ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00)ASSESSED VALUATION; AND ANNOUNCING THE PERCENTAGE OF INCREASE OF MILLAGE RATE EXCEEDING ROLLBACK - RATE OF 12A6 PERCENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS,the Broward County Property Appraiser certified pursuant to Section 200.065 F.S.,certified value to the city of -Tamarac on August 4th, 1980; and WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac prepared a proposed millage rate necessary to fund the tentative budget other than the portion of said budget to be funded from sources other than ad valorem taxes. In computing the millage rates the City of Tamarac utilized not less than 95% of taxable value certified by the Property Appraiser; and WHEREAS, on August 15, 1980 (within 30 days of certification of value by the Property Appraiser) the City of Tamarac advised the property Appraiser of its proposed millage rate, of its rolled back rate computed pursuant to Section 200.065(1)F.S. df the date, time and place at which a public hearing would be held to consider the proposed millage rate and the tentative budget; and WHEREAS, the Property Appraiser utilized this information in preparing the notice of proposed property taxes pursuant to Section 200.069 F.S.; and . WHEREAS, the Property Appraiser mailed this notice not later than 45 days after certification of value pursuant to Section 200.065(1) F.S.; and WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac, within 75 days of the certification of value pursuant to Section 200.065(1) F.S., but not earlier than 60 days after said date has conducted a public hearing on the tentative budget and proposed millage rate. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC FLORIDA: V�p SECTION 1: That the foregoing recitations of fact are true and correct. SECTION 2: That the tentative proposed millage rate for the City of Tamarac -for fiscal year 1980/81 is hereby established at 6.88 per one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) assessed valuation. , SECTION 3: That pursuant to state law, the City of Tamarac hereby publicly announces that the tentative proposed millage rate exceeds the roll back rate by 19.7 percent (the percentage increase in property taxes tentatively adopted by the City Council). SECTION 4: That the City Council establishes the place of the Public Hearing on the final adoption of the millage rate and final budgetat City Council Chambers, 5811 N.W. 88th Avenue, Tamarac, Florida on September 29th, 1980 at 7:30 P.M. At that time the City Council will receive comments from the citizenry. SECTION 5: effective upon adoption. This resolution shall become PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this day of 1980.
