CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING PASSAGE OF A STATE
CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT NUMBER 4 TO ALLOW
THE ISSUANCE OF STATE BONDS FOR WATER FACIL-
ities.
WHEREAS, the projection that 35 of Florida's 67 Counties would
be experiencing population growth in excess of 33 percent by the
year 2000, and
WHEREAS, many of the urban areas of Florida are facing the need
to relocate well fields further inland to negate the effects of
salt water intrusion, and
WHEREAS, considerable monies could be saved by local government
in financing water facilities through the mechanism of State bonds
rather than through local bonds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA.
SECTION 1: That the City Council wishes to express support for
adoption of AMENDMENT NUMBER 4 to Section 14 of the State Consti-
tution to allow the issuance of State bonds for water facilities.
SECTION 2: That the City Clerk is directed to send copies of this
Resolution to the Florida League of Cities and the Broward League
of Cities.
