CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OPPOSING RELEASE OF CANAL RESERVATIONS
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac has been requested by the South
Florida Management District to provide input concerning the release of certain
canal reservations, and
WHEREAS, said canal reservations are in Land Section 7 in the
westernmost section of the City of Tamarac, and
WHEREAS, Land Section 7 is totally undeveloped, and
WHEREAS, drainage is a matter of the utmost concern to the
City Council of the City of Tamarac and to its citizens, and
WHEREAS, the City is opposed to release of canal reservations
which might possibly be used to improve drainage for the benefit of the health,
safety and welfare of the people of Tamarac and to provide them with a better
quality of life, and
WHEREAS, the City has not received any development plans for
the property which may be affected by the canal reservations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City of Tamarac is opposed, at the present
time, to release of any of the canal reservations by the South Florida Water
Management District for the.properties affected by that letter from Edward A.
Melley of the South Florida Water Management District dated November 29, 1979
and attached hereto as Exhibit A.
SECTION 2: That a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded
to the South Florida Water Management District through its Executive Director and
to Mr. Edward A. Melley of the South Florida Water Management District, Real
Estate Division.
SECTION 3: That this Resolution shall be effective immediately
upon adoption.
