HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity of Tamarac Resolution R-69-061• RESOLUTION N0. 61-69 • • A RESOLUTION REQUESTING STATE ROAD DEPARTMENT PERMISSION TO INSTALL A TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE ON STATE ROAD N0. 7 AND COMMERCIAL BOULEVARD IN THE CITY OF TAMARAC, AND AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS ON COMPLETION OF THE IN- TERCHANGE AT SUNSHINE STATE PARKWAY AND COMMERCIAL BOULEVARD. WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac has been advised that the State Road Department must give permission for the installation of turn signals on the traffic control device located at State Road No. 7 (Highway No. 441) and Commercial Boulevard; and WHEREAS, the Council deems it wise and expedient to install, on State Road No. 7,a North to West arrow and a South to East arrow on the existing traffic control device located at said intersection and to commit the City of Tamarac to pay for a complete automatic traffic control device at said intersection at the time that the interchange of the Sunshine State Parkway and Commercial Boulevard is completed, said completion date to be in approximately two (2) years and said cost to be a maximum of Eleven Thousand Dollars ($11,000.00); now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the City of Tamarac officially re- quests permission from the State Road Department to install North to West and South to East arrows on the traffic control device located at State Road No. 7 and Commercial Boulevard in the City of Tamarac. Said arrows shall control traffic proceeding North and South on State Road No. 7. SECTION 2: In the event that the provisions of para- graph 1 are accomplished the City shall commit itself to the expenditure of up to Eleven Thousand Dollars ($11,000.00) for a completed automatic traffic control device at the intersection of State Road No. 7 and Commercial Boulevard; said expenditure and improvement to be accomplished at or immediately after the construction and operation of the interchange at Sunshine State WO7- A • RESOLUTION N0. 61-69 (Continued) -2- Parkway and Commercial Boulevard in the City of Tamarac.
