CITY OF TAMARAC
Broward County, Florida
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE LEGISLATURE TO
SUPPORT THE RETURN OF ONE CENT PER GALLON
ON GASOLINE TAXES TO MUNICIPALITIES IN WHICH
SAID TAXES ARE COLLECTED.
WHEREAS, there presently exists within the corporate
limits of the City of Tamarac an urgent need to relieve traffic
congestion by constructing additional public streets, highways
and by -ways; and,
WHEREAS, there is presently unavailable to the City
of Tamarac sufficient means with which to finance said con-
struction; and,
WHEREAS, there is a legitimate right of the City of
Tamarac to share directly in State gasoline taxes for city
street purposes; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the Broward County Legislative Delegation
be and hereby is requested to support legislation in the next
session of the Legislature which will return to not only the City
of Tamarac but all other corporate communities in the State of
Florida a direct share in state gasoline taxes, the same to be
used for City street purposes on a penny per gallon basis.
