HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity of Tamarac Resolution R-70-005r w RESOLUTION NO. 70 - 5 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH WILLIAM H. MEEKS, JR., TAX COLLECTOR OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, FOR THE COLLECTION OF MUNICIPAL AD VALOREM TAXES. WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Tamarac has deemed it necessary to initiate procedures designed and intended to result in the assessment and collection of ad valorem taxation on all lands within the City limits of the City of Tamarac; and, WHEREAS, in accordance with law, the tax assessor and tax collector of Broward County shall act as the tax assessor and tax collector of the City of Tamarac; and, WHEREAS, the tax collector has submitted an agreement delineating the method and procedures wherein his office shall collect and disburse the taxes for the City and the Council deems it wise and expedient to cause the appropriate City officials to execute said agreement with the tax collector; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the appropriate City officials be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute that certain agreement by and between the City of Tamarac and W. H. Meeks, Jr., Tax Collector of Broward County, a copy of said agreement being attached hereto and made a part hereof as if set forth in full herein and identified as Exhibit "A".
