RESOLUTION # � - `
WHEREAS, Florida Statute 98.041 provides for the creation
of permanent Countywide registration system for the registration
of electors, and
WHEREAS, said statute provides for the adoption of such a
system by municipalities through the adoption of an appropriate
resolution, and
WHEREAS, Florida Statute 98.041 provides that any municipality
within a county wherein the county commissioners have officially
adopted such a permanent registration system may adopt said system,
and
and
WHEREAS, Broward County, Florida, has adopted said system
WHEREAS, Florida Statute 98.091 provides that a municipality
may adopt said system before July 1st of any odd numbered year
by adopting an appropriate resolution, and
WHEREAS, the City Council is now desirous of adopting such
a resolution providing for the adoption pursuant to Florida Statutes
of a permanent single registration system for the registration
of electors.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
City of Tamarac, Florida:
That a permanent single registration system for the registra-
tion of electors to qualify them to vote in all elections within
the City of Tamarac is hereby adopted pursuant to Florida Statute
98.041, 98.051, 98.091 and all other related and pertinent statutes.
That pursuant to such adoption the County Supervisor of
Elections is hereby approved to perform all of the registration
y duties and requirements pursuant to the terms and requirements of
the pertinent Florida Statutes.
That pursuant to Florida Statute 98.091 this system adopted
by this resolution shall be effective on January 1 of 1972. The
City Manager is hereby instructed to notify the Board of County
Commissioners pursuant to Florida Statute 98.091 of the adoption
of this resolution.
The City Manager and the Mayor are hereby authorized to
execute any and all documents necessary to effectuate the intent
of this resolution.
The City Manager is hereby authorized to reimburse the County
for any actual costs incurred from time to time for the institution
of the system hereby adopted.
