WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City Council
that a dangerous and congested situation exists in the area surrounding
the underpass of the Florida Sunshine State Turnpike, and
1-% WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has recommended the designations of
ertain streets as one-way streets, and
WHEREAS, construction has begun for a new overpass over the Florida
Sunshine State Turnpike in the vicinity and area of the existing overpass,
and
WHEREAS, the Council is now desirous of establishing, on a temporary
basis, certain one-way streets in the vicinity of the aforementioned area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
Tamarac, Florida:
That until further action of the Council and/or until the completion
of the overpass over the Florida Sunshine State Turnpike the following
streets shall be one-way streets:
a. N. W. 49th Avenue shall be a one-way street running in a northerly
lirection from N. W. 53rd Court to N. W. 55th Court.
b. N. W. 55th Court shall be a one-way street running in a westerly
direction from N. W. 49th Avenue to N. W. 50th Avenue.
The Public Works Department is hereby instructed to install the
necessary signs to advise vehicular traffic of the one-way direction of
the aforementioned streets. The City Clerk is hereby instructed to post
a notice of this Resolution in each clubhouse of the City and in the City
Hall, and further, to advise the news media of such change.
