RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Tamarac provides
procedure for the preparation and adoption of a budget and
ad valorem taxes or millage upon taxable property within the
City of Tamarac, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has heretofore presented a budget
message and a recommended annual budget to the Council for the
ensuing fiscal year beginning November 12 1971, and recommended
a tax on public utilities, and
WHEREAS, the Charter requires at least thirty (30) day
notice of referendum election, and
WHEREAS, a referendum election is necessary under the
Charter as a pre -requisite to the imposition of an ad valorem
tax, and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that either one tax
or the other will be necessary and desires to give the public
an alternative.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL of the
City of Tamarac, Florida:
1. That a referendum election be held on September 212
1971, for the purpose of submitting the following question
to the electors of the City of Tamarac:
"Shall the City Council be authorized to
impose an ad valorem tax not to exceed the
amount of four (4) mills of each dollar of
assessed valuation for the year beginning '�
January 1, 1971 and ending December 311 1971?
YES NO
