RESOLUTION NO. `11 .._
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING DELFORD P. RICHEY
AS SPECIAL ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY TO REP-
RESENT THE CITY OF TAMARAC IN CONNECTION
WITH A SUIT FILED CONCERNING OCCUPATIONAL
LICENSE TAXES OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC.
WHEREAS, certain businesses within Broward County have
filed a class action against all municipalities levying occu-
pational license taxes (said case being known as House and
Garden Services, Inc. vs. City of Coconut Creek, et al. -
Case No. 71-6784 - 1T' Farrington), and
WHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interest of said
municipalities to present a concerted defense to said
suit, and
WHEREAS, the Broward County City Attorneys' Association
has recommended a concerted course of action in this matter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
of the City of Tamarac, Florida:
SECTION 1: That Delford P. Richey be, and he is hereby,
retained as Special Assistant City Attorney for the purpose
of representing the City of Tamarac in the aforementioned
litigation and as compensation therefor shall receive the sum
of $350.00 as an initial retainer.
PASSED2 ADOPTED and APPROVED this v-e_ day of
December, 1971.
