A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF THE CITY'S PLANNING CONSULTANTS FOR AN ADDITIONAL TEEM OF ONE YEAR AND DESIGNATING AN OFFICIAL CITY PLANNER. WHEREAS, the City by Resolution No. 71-66 authorized the City Manager to employ city planning consultants and, WHEREAS, pursuant to such authority, the firm of STUTSMAN, KENNELLY, NEIDIGH & ASSOCIATES was employed for a period of six (6) months, and WHEREAS, the City Manager has indicated the desire to appoint such firm for a period of one (1) year to perform "Phase Two" of their proposal and he desires to create the post of city planner and designate an official city planner, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the City Manager be and is hereby authorized to retain the City Planning Consultants, STUTSMAN, KENNELLY, NEIDIGH & ASSOCIATED, for an additional term of one (1) year commencing May 9, 1972, for the purposes described in their pro- posal as "Phase Tiro -Comprehensive General Plan and Meetings and Reports." That the liability of the City under this agreement shall be subject to sufficient funds being made available under the City Budget for 1972-73 to complete the unbudgeted portion of the agreement. SECTION 2: That the position of City Planner is hereby created and the City Manager is hereby authorized to designate and appoint an official City Planner. SECTION 3: The City Manager is hereby directed to fix the compensation of such Planning Consultants and City Planner within the budget limitations of the City. Tiie firm is to iandertaka and perform the services contained .in the attached proposal and described as "Phase `No-COlvIPREHC'NSIVE GENERAL PI,AN" and '11KEETINGS AND REPORTS." 2. All of such services are to be completed and presented to the City within twelve (12) months from the effective date hereof, May 9, 1972. 3. Wring the period of study the services of the fina shall be available to the City for guidance in the day to day problems of planning and zoning including attendance at meetings of City Boards dealing with such problems, where necessary, and consultations with the City Manager and the City Attorney. 4. That the lump sum fee for all of the services described above shall be $20,400.00, payable in the following manner: Twelve (12) equal monthly payments of $1,700.00 each begiruring Juic 9, 1972. S. That in addition to the employment of the firm, the City does hereby designate and emp.1py PAUL M. STUTSMAN, as City Planner for a term of one (1) year commencing May 9, 1972, charged with the specific duty of making site plan approvals -as woll as such general duties as may require the services of a "City Planner" as distinguished from "Planning Consultants" That the City,Planner shall be entitled to receive for his services in examining site plans the site plan application fees to be charged in accord - This contract shall be revocable when the ance with the attached schedulo, consultants have earned $1.0, 200 unless further funds are appropriated to cover the 1972-73 portion.
