CITY OF TAMARAC) FLORIDA
RESOLUTION N0: --
A RESOLUTION CREATING THE OFFICE OF CITY
PUBLIC DEFENDER; APPOINTING A PUBLIC DE-
FENDER; AND2 FIXING HIS COMPENSATION
WHEREAS; the Supreme Court of the United States has
recently declared that every Defendant has the right to
be represented by Counsel in any case in which a jail
sentence is possible, and
WHEREAS. it is the desire of the City Council to
comply with such requirements by making a public defender
available to indigent Defendants.
NOW, THEREFORE$ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
City of Tamarac2 Florida:
SECTION 1: That there is hereby created the position
of City Public Defender.
SECTION 2: That Mr. George Naze, II
attorney practicing in Broward Countys Florida is hereby
an
appointed City Public Defender to,serve at the pleasure of
the. City Council.
SECTION 3: That the City Public Defender shall re-
ceive compensation at the rate of $ 50.00
for
each Court session at which his attendance is required.
