CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to direct a resolution to
the County Commission urging a rapid transit system be investigated.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF The City of
Tamarac, Florida:
SECTION 1: That due to the increased growth of Broward County
over the past several years and the fact that there is continually
more and more traffic on the highways and especially because of
the growth in the North Broward area the City Council of the City
of Tamarac does hereby request that all cities join with it in
directing to the Broward County Commission a request to investigate
the feasibility and desirability of a rapid transit system through
the construction of more expressways and in other areas towards
this end and does hereby request the County Commission to start
such an investigation as soon as is possible in order to alleviate
the traffic problems within Broward County at the earliest possible
date.
SECTION 2: That copies of this resolution shall be directed
to the Broward County Commission Chairman and to the mayors of all
the cities of Broward County.
