RESOLUTION NO. —.
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING BROWARD COUNTY ASSIS-
TANCE IN A TRAFFIC STUDY OF COMMERCIAL BOULE-
VARD AND IN IMPLEMENTING TRAFFIC CONTROL
DEVICES THEREON.
WHEREAS, the rapid growth in western Broward County
is causing the traffic movements in the east -west direction
to increase at a very rapid rate, and
WHEREAS, Commercial Boulevard is one of the major
east -west arterials in the central Broward area, and
WHEREAS, Commercial Boulevard between the Sunshine
State Parkway and State Road #7, presently has very heavy traffic
due to the close proximity of commercial and business centers, and
WHEREAS, the residential traffic from Mainlands Boule-
vard and Northwest 47th Terrace is experiencing extreme difficulty
in merging with the Commercial Boulevard traffic, and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac does not have the staff
to study the traffic conditions as they presently exist.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION l: That the Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida
hereby requests that the Board of County Commissioners of Broward
County, Florida assist the City in making a traffic study of said
Commercial Boulevard and assist the City in the implementation of
any traffic control device found to be necessary.
SECTION 2: The City of Tamarac is willing to pay for its
share of the expense for these traffic improvements.
