CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION CALLING AND PROVIDING FOR AN ELECTION ON
MARCH 4, 1975 IN THE CITY OF TAMARAC, VLORIDA TO DETER-
MINE WHETHER SUCH CITY SHALL ISSUE GENERAL OBLIGATION
BONDS NOT IN EXCESS OF $650,000 FOR PURPOSES OF AC-
QUIRING AN EXISTING BUILDING AND THE LAND ON WHICH IT
IS SITUATED FOR USE AS A CITY HALL.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: This resolution is adopted pursuant to Chapter 100,
Florida Statutes and other applicable provisions of law.
SECTION 2: It is hereby found, determined and ascertained
that:
A. It is necessary, desirable and in the best interest
of the general health and welfare of the City and its inhabitants
that general obligation bonds of the City be issued in an amount
not exceeding $650,000 for the acquisition of an existing building,
known as CLUB EXECUTIVE together with the land on which it is sit-
uated all in accordance with a ten year lease with option to pur-
chase which has been entered into by the City of Tamarac for use as
a City Hall (hereinafter called "project").
B. A detailed description of the above project, including
the lease, is on file with the City Clerk.
C. The project shall include all purposes necessary,
appurtenant and incidental thereto.
D. The bonds shall bear interest at a rate or rates no
exceeding Seven and One Half Percent (7j%) and shall mature serially
at such times not less than five (5) nor more than fifteen (15) years
from the date of such bonds. Such bonds shall be payable, as to both
principal and interest, from ad valorem taxes levied on all taxable
property in the City.
SECTION 3: A special bond election is hereby called to be
held in the City on the 4th day of March 1975, to determine whether
or not the general obligation bonds for the purpose as described
above in subsection A of Section 2 of this resolution shall be issued.
SECTION 4: Such bond election shall be held and conducted
in the manner prescribed by law for holding general elections except
as herein otherwise provided. The places of voting in such bond
election shall be the same places of voting within the City as for the
general election to be held in the City on the same date. The polls
will be open at such voting places on the date of such bond election
from 7:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. on the same day. All qualified electors
residing within said City shall be entitled, qualified and permitted to
vote at such election. The issuance of the bonds shall be approved
if a majority of all votes cast at such election in respect to the
issuance of the bonds shall be in favor of the issuance of the bonds;
and the bonds, the issuance of which shall have been approved thereby,
shall be authorized and issued in such a manner as the City shall here-
after provide.
SECTION 5: Voting machines shall be used at such bond election.
The ballot to be used in said election shall contain a statement of
the description of the proposed issue of bonds, and will provide facil-
ities for qualified electors to vote for or against the issuance of
said bonds as they may choose; and said ballot shall be in substan-
tially the following form:
Shall the City of Tamarac, Florida, issue general
obligation bonds in an amount not exceeding $650,000
bearing interest at such rate or rates, not exceeding
7170, such bonds maturing serially not less than 5 nor
more than 15 years from the date of the bonds, for the
purpose of acquiring an existing building and the land
on which it is situated, for use as a City Hall, as
provided in the resolution of the City Council adopted
January 17, 1975, the principal of and interest on
such bonds to be payable from ad valorem taxes levied
on all taxable property in the City.

SECTION 6: Paper ballots shall be used at said bond election
for absentee voting. The form of ballot to be used in said bond election
for absentee voters shall be in substantially the form provided in
Section 5 above, except that instructions to voters shall be as follows:

SECTION 7. The Election Board is authorized and directed
to have printed on plain white paper a sufficient number of the
aforesaid ballots for use of absentee electors entitled to cast
such ballots in such bond election, and shall also cause to have
printed sample ballots and shall cause same to be delivered to
the Supervisor of Elections who shall deliver them to the Inspectors
and Clerks on or before the date and time for the opening of the polls
for such bond election for the voting places at which voting machines
are to be used; and further is authorized and directed to make appro-
priate arrangements for use of such voting machines at the polling
places specified herein and cause them to have printed on plain white
paper and delivered in accordance with law the official ballots for
use in such voting machines.
SECTION 8: The bond election shall be held and conducted
in the manner prescribed by law for holding general elections.
The Election Board shall prepare and file returns of such
bond election and shall deliver the same to the City Council.. Such
returns shall show the number of qualified electors who voted at
such bond election and the number of votes cast respectively for
and against approval of the proposition. The returns shall as soon
as practicable be canvassed by the Election Board.
SECTION 9; This resolution shall be published in full as
part of the notice of such bond election, together with an appropriate
caption in such form as the Election Board shall determine, in the
Fort Lauderdale News, a newspaper of general circulation in the City
once each week for four (4) consecutive weeks, the first publication
to be not less than thirty (30) days prior to the date of said bond
election.
SECTION 10
This resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption.

NOTICE OF BOND ELECTION IN THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, ON MARCH 4, 1975

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A BOND ELECTION will be
held on the 4th day of March, 1975, in the City of Tamarac.
Florida for the purpose of determining whether or not general
obligation bonds of said City shall be issued in an aggregate
principal amount of not exceeding $650,000, bearing interest,
payable semi-annually, at such rate or rates not exceeding
seven and one half percent (7h%) for such bonds at the time
of the sale thereof, maturing serially in annual installments
over a period not less than five years and not more than fifteen
(15) years from the date of such bonds, for the purpose of
acquiring an existing building together with the land on which
it is situated, for use as a City Hall, all as provided in the
resolution of the City Council adopted on the 17th day of
January, 1975, which said resolution is published in full here-
with as part of this notice.
Said bonds and the interest thereon will be payable from
ad valorem taxes levied on all taxable property in the City.
The places of voting in said bond election shall be the
same places in the City at which the general election is being
held on the same date. The polls will be open at the voting
places on the date of said bond election from 7:00 A.M. until
7:00 P.M. on the same day, all as provided in said resolution
adopted on January 17, 1975, published herewith.
All qualified electors residing within the City shall be
entitled, qualified and permitted to vote at such election.
