CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 18, 1975
THROUGH NOVEMBER 24, 1975 B'NAI BRITH WEEK.
WHEREAS, B'NAI BRITH has taken upon itself the work of
promoting the highest interests of humanity, developing and
elevating the mental and moral character of the people of the
Jewish faith, of inculcating the purest principles of philan-
thropy, honor, and patriotism, alleviating the wants of the
poor and needy, visiting and caring for the sick and coming
to the rescue of victims of persecution and discrimination,
regardless of race, color or creed, and
WHEREAS, when the ORDER was founded in 1843 in the City
of New York, a motto was chosen, which remains the motto of
B'NAI BRITH to this moment 132 years later "BENEVOLENCE,
BROTHERLY LOVE AND HARMONY", and
WHEREAS, the members of B'NAI BRITH put into practice
the principles originally set forth to the enrichment of
mankind and now that they are celebrating their 132nd Birthday
Anniversary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION l: That the week of November 18th through the 24th
1975 be proclaimed as B'NAI BRITH WEEK in the City of Tamarac,
Florida.
SECTION 2: That, in observance thereof, all residents of
the City of Tamarac are called upon to join with the City Council
wherever and whenever possible participating in the observance of
this week, and to be mindful of its inspirational message of
understanding, benevolence, brotherly love and harmony.
