CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. 1 �) t
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT TUESDAY,
NOVEMBER 11TH, 1975, SHALL BE RECOG-
NIZED BY AND CELEBRATED IN THE CITY
OF TAMARAC AS ARMISTICE DAY; PROVID-
ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac has
taken cognizance that the Congress of the United States of
America has elected to omit November llth, 1975, Armistice Day,
as a Federally recognized legal holiday, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac re-
cognizes that the freedom enjoyed by the citizenry of the City
of Tamarac and of the United States of America has been in part
guaranteed by the ultimate sacrifice of so many faithful American
patriots who defended democracy in World War I, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac on
behalf of the residents of the City of Tamarac is desirous of
commemorating those faithful defenders of democracy and the
efforts of those brave souls whose industry and valor led to the
conclusion of World War I and the signing of the Armistice Agree-
ment with the Country of Germany on the llth day of November, 1918,
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Tamarac,
Florida, on behalf of the citizenry of the City of Tamarac, does
hereby recognize and reaffirm it's gratitude to all those .faith-
ful defenders of democracy who fought for and defended democracy
during World War
I and to
those War
Veterans who sacrificed
themselves in an
effort to
protect
the citizens of the United
States of America during the course of World War I, without which
the great American tradition of freedom and democracy would have
been imperiled.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Tamarac,
Florida, does hereby declare Tuesday, November llth, 1975, as
Armistice Day and does hereby elicit the observance of Tuesday,
November llth, 1975, as Armistice Day by the citizens of the
City of Tamarac.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its final passage.
