CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE
GENERAL ELECTION REFERENDUM O'_N AMENDMENT
TO THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC
WHEREAS, a general election was held on March 4, 1975,
for the purpose of a referendum on Amendments to the Charter
of the City of Tamarac, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has accepted the results of
the Votomatic voting and absentee ballots as certified by the
Election Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECION 1: That pursuant to Florida Statutes, Section
166.031, the following amendment is declared to have failed:
"SUBSECTION (f) SECTION 11 of ARTICLE III, POWERS OF THE
CITY, is hereby amended to add thereto a new section 5
which shall read as follows:
SECTION S. POWERS OF THE CITY
The City may define and create special taxing
districts by ordinance where it finds that the developer
of a region has provided land or funds for recreational
purposes and where a need for recreational facilities exist.
Such special taxing districts may_levy a tax within said
district for the ur ose of purchasing, constructing and
maintaining recreational facilities suitably located and
desi ned to service the inhabitants of said district.
The members of the City Council shall sit as special
taxing district officers for any district so created."
