S' A RESOLUTION AWARDING A BID FOR A TELEPHONE SYSTEM WHEREAS, the City has heretofore advertised for bids for a Telephone System and has received bids; and, WFHEREAS, the Council is desirous of awarding the bid for such Telephone System to the lowest and best bidder. Delivery date to be within 30 days after award* *Providing the building is satisfactorily completed to house and maintain the switching equipment. Bidder hereby agrees that Base Bid Price shall remain in full force and effect for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the time of opening of this bid and that the Bidder will not revoke or cancel this bid within the. sixty (60) days. In the event the contract is awarded to this Bidder, he will enter into a formal. written Agreement with the City, in accordance with the accepted bid within ten (10) calendar days after said contract is submitted to him and will furnish to the City a Contract Performance and Payment Bond with good and sufficient sureties, satisfactory to the City, in the amount of 1000 of the accepted bid, the form and terms of which shall fully comply with Section 255.05, Florida Statutes. The Bidder further agrees that in the event of the Bidder's default or breach of any of the agreements of this bid, the said bid deposit shall be forfeited as liquidated damages. I All work shall be guaranteed by the Bidder against defects re- sulting from the use of materials, equipment or workmanship for one year from the :date of final completion of the contract, or from full. occupancy -or use of the City Hall. If, within any guarantee period, repairs or changes are required in connection with the guarantee work, which in the opinion of the City is rendered necessary as the result of the use of materials, equipment or workmanship, which are defective, or inferior, or not in accordancEwith the terms of the Contract, the Bidder shall, promptly upon receipt of notice from the City and without expense to the City, proceed to: Place in satisfactory condition in every particular all of such guaranteed work, correct all defects therein. Bif dder to state any additional work, changes, or variations tothe Ci.tv's sDecific.ations_ terms and condi.tionti SPECIFICATIONS FOR INSTALLATION OF TELEPHONE SYSTEM FOR CITY HALL AND POLICE DEPARTMENT Proposals are being requested for the installation, maintenance and design of a modern communication system which will adequately serve the present and future needs of the City of Tamarac. This system should insure the efficient provision for municipal services, including Public Safety, for a City population of 20,000 and employing 150 persons. Installation should be located at the new City Hall site at 5811 N.W. 88th Avenue in Tamarac. Bidders may visit the site if they wish. Arrangements should be made through the Office of the City Manager. This system should provide for trunk equipment, automatic dialing, switching capability, including features such as call transfer, conference capability, etc. We will offer any assistance you may need in designing a suggested plan. This includes recommendations of conduit requirements and other building modifications to the municipal architects. The system has been designed to be compatible with all future changes and additions in telecommunications, such as electronic switching centers, and centralized dispatch. In addition, this system is compatible with every municipal system in Broward County, and is designed for total flexibility in that installations and removals can be effected on an individual station basis without affecting the cost of the basic switching system. EMERGENCIES - Southern Bell provides fast and depend- able service in all types of disasters such as. fire, flood, windstorm, etc. If your telephone service is destroyed or damaged, Southern Bell will restore your service and equipment at no cost to you.
