A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH THE OPPOSI- TION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC TO THE COMPREHENSIVE REGIONAL LAND USE PLAN DATED THE 26TH DAY OF JUNE, 1974, WHICH PLAN IS PROPOSED TO BE ADOPTED BY THE BROWARD COUNTY PLANNING COUNCIL AS A COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE PLAN FOR THE COUNTY OF BROWARD, STATE OF FLORIDA. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida has reviewed the Broward County Comprehensive Regional Land Use Plan dated the 26th day of June, 1974, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida,upon investigation and inquiry, believes that the Broward County Comprehensive Regional Land Use Plan reflects an; attitude toward development in Broward County, Florida that is inimical to the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Broward County and of the citizens of the City of Tamarac, Florida, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida, has been advised that the Broward County Planning Council intends to recommend the adoption of the said Comprehensive Regional Land Use Plan dated the 26th day of June, 1974, as the County Land Use Plan Required Pursuant to Article VI of the Charter of Broward County, Florida, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida, wishes to express its opposition to the adoption of said Comprehensive Regional Land Use Plan, NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Tamarac, on behalf of the citizens of the City of Tamarac, does oppose and recommend against the adoption of the Broward County Comprehensive Regional Land Use Plan, as the same was recommended for adoption by the Broward County Area Planning Board on the 26th day of June, 1974, inasmuch as the City Council of the City of Tamarac, after consultation with various officers and agents of the City including, but not limited to the City's Planning Consultant, believes that said Comprehensive Plan is inimical to the health, safety and welfare of the citizenry of Broward County and the citizenry of the City of Tamarac. SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida does hereby recommend to the Broward County Planning Council that said Council revise the proposed Broward County Comprehensive Regional Land Use Plan in such a way as to deter developments of excessive densities and to provide adequate conciliation with regard to the impact which develop- ments lying outside the bounds of municipalities in general will have upon contiguous property lying within the geographical boundaries of a municipality. SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida, does hereby direct that conformed copies of this Resolution be presented by the City Manager of the City of Tamarac to the County Administrator, Broward County Planning Council and the Broward County Commission.
